PostHeaderIcon Wow...I'm Actually Pretty Good!

I have been hunting oh, for about the past week now, for my old TMWW blog posts that I downloaded to my computer.  Couldn't find them anywhere.  Then, in the midst of updating my SEO for the blog and doing a search to ensure everything showed up as I wanted it to – I came across my entire blog over at Word press – where I'd uploaded it to for safekeeping.

I've been bouncing about, reading posts from here and there and discovered, I'm actually a pretty damn good writer!

So I'm going to be pulling some posts from the 'archives' if you will and posting them here with their original dates...so keep an eye out for them!  My favorites I'll be adding to my favorites link at the bottom of the blog!

PostHeaderIcon The Parenting Curve Ball

Jamie greets every morning with a smile, out of bed when the alarm sounds. With coffee in hand she takes the dog out for a walk, enjoying the birds chattering in the trees above. The sun is shining and Jamie is ready to tackle her ‘To Do’ list, prepared the night before. Then, reality strikes.  ( Read more at Examiner.com )

PostHeaderIcon Richmond Local Events

As I stated on my Articles & Information page, the Richmond Local tab is relatively new.  It is where you will find blog posts about local events I want to attend or have attended, in addition to discussing current events that are going on within our great city.  I am hoping to be able to post some really great events for families that are free or inexpensive and living on a shoestring budget like most of the American people seem to be doing these days.

In addition – I would like to showcase any family-friendly events that YOU might have in the works, either business-related or non-profit or charity events.  If it's happening in Richmond, I want to know about it!  So please drop me a line and let me know what you have going on and I will gladly include it here!

PostHeaderIcon Mary Kay Sale!

My most favorite Mary Kay Independent Consultant, Katie Morris, is having a sale this week only on her EYE DEAL SET – an Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover and an Ultimate Mascara for only $25!  (Normally priced at $30).  This sale only runs thru midnight on Sunday, March 18, 2012 so hurry on over to Katie's site and get your order in now!

Psst – you can help ME win a free Eye Deal Set – all I need to do is have (5) friends of mine purchase the set and I'll get mine free!  So when you send in your purchase – be sure to tell Katie that Kimmi sent you!

In addition – March 15th the new Spring Collection comes out – and there are some great deals and beautiful products coming available!  You can download the flyer here and get a preview of what's to come now!

Katie is in need of 30 women to do a product demo with her and try these products out and give her their honest opinions on them.  If you would like to participate in the product demo – you can contact Katie by clicking here and if you are on Twitter, you can find her there at @ktscottmorris.

*Updated 3/12/2012*

If you are reading Life in a House of Testosterone via our RSS Feed – I thank you!  I would also ask; however, that you take a moment to stop by our web site and check us out "in person" if you will.  I love the convenience of subscribing to RSS Feeds (I myself am subscribed to hundreds – literally!) and being able to just quickly skim through the posts to find the things that interest me...but I also like to take a visit to the web site as well now and again to see what is new and what has changed.

There are just a few things on the blog that I would like to bring your attention to – and seeing them means having to view the blog online in your browser.  I know – I'm horrible LOL!

CAUSES THAT I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT

Causes is a wonderful site that is dedicated to spreading the word about social issues that are near and dear to your heart. Boasting 170 million members, those members have raised $40 million dollars for 27,000 nonprofits to date and have had 400,000 birthday wishes dedicated to Causes.  I am a proud member of those 170 million members.

I am currently a member of and support various different causes that I would like to share with you and ask for your support in.

My featured cause is Stop Bullying.  I was bullied as a child in school.  I remember the tears, the pain, the shame that came with the name-calling and the belittling.  Being called Kibble 'n Bits (yes, after the dog food – meaning that I was the dog) in high school no less is just beyond cruel.  I still to this day remember the girl who started calling me that and the mortification I felt when she yelled it down the hallway in high school and everyone laughed at me.  I just wanted to crawl inside of myself and die.  With all of the problems that I was having at home, school was my only refuge, my only place to come to for any sense of normalcy and stability, and with just those three little words she ripped all of that away from me in an instant.

I was able to survive it and suffer through it.  Some children are not so lucky.  Depending on other issues going on in their lives that these bullies have no knowledge of, sometimes the bullying is the last straw.  There are too many of our young children who are taking their own lives because of the senseless bullying in school and in their neighborhoods, not to mention the growing epidemic of cyber-bullying.  It needs to stop, and it needs to stop NOW.

In honor of my children, for my birthday this year (February 11th) I am asking that friends and family members donate to the Stop Bullying cause on my Birthday Wish page at Causes.  I would like to raise $1,000 for this worthy cause by my birthday – and donations are accepted starting as low as $10.00.  On my web site you will see a section entitled Causes where you can click on the links to go to my profile, join Causes yourself, or make a donation to my Birthday Wish

In addition, I am a member of the Care2 family and you will find tweets and Facebook posts and Google+ posts from me about causes and concerns from the site that I am passionate about.

PostHeaderIcon Just About Ready!

I must admit – it feels really good to be back home again here!  Like putting on a pair of favorite sweat pants that you'd forgotten you had!  I do believe that I've gotten all my sidebar favorites and info linked back up correctly – next on the agenda is to just go through the posts and update the pictures and such that seem to have gone *poof* on me for one reason or another.  That is something that is going to take some time, but it will get done eventually!

I am excited to be back and have some great ideas in store for the local section...but more about that tomorrow!

PostHeaderIcon Guess Who's Back!?!

Hello faithful followers!  I know those of you who 'blog-hop' with me and follow me around here there and everywhere are doing a collective groan at the moment - you know what's coming don't you?  But you still love me anyway, right?  Good!

LIAH has not amassed the huge amount of followers that I was hoping it would, and as you all know, this blog has been around a lot longer and has a good following and a good name - and I was crazy to try and change things, wasn't I?

So over the course of the next few days - I will be transferring my content from LIAH back to this blog and updating the layout and design as well.

So get ready to rock folks, The Messed-Up, Mad-In-Da-Brain White Woman is on her way home!!!!!
